WE MOVED ON 5th MARCH 2026
Please note that the club moved on 5th March 2026 permanently to the "Temp Sports Hall" at Lilleshall Sports Centre - this is a positive move to ensure the availability of well maintained heated courts throughout the year.
History
Nova Badminton club started in 2005 when the Sports Hall at Burton Borough School was opened. A small group started the "pay and play" club with a grant that paid for the initial courts and some shuttlecocks. With over 40 members, the club continues to thrive with regular social events.
Where and When Do We Meet
On 5th March 2026 we moved to a new home at Lilleshall Sports Centre using the "Temp Sports Hall". With around 30 regular players, we use 4 courts from 7:30pm to 9:30pm every Thursday - See Map on "Contact" page for directions and check on Club Diary for availability in case of any changes in time or venue. We also run a variety of Social events during the year (see Social and Notices Page).
How do I Join?
Please contact us is using the link on "Contact" Page. This lets us know you are interested and we will respond directly to you and answer any questions you may have.
Sadly we can't cater for beginners or anyone under 18yrs. But, if you have played before and want to return, and are looking for a relaxed friendly club where there is an opportunity to play with a range of players, give us a try! A £5 fee is paid on the evening or regular players can set up a standing order of only £15/month.
Badminton England
Nova Badminton is affiliated to Badminton England which provides benefits to our players and committee including support, offers and insurance. After attending 3 sessions, players must join Badminton England (currently £17.50 per year as a one off payment but is reduced for direct debit payment) as a Community Member or Community Club Member. The club is also affiliated to Shropshire County Badminton Association (SCBA) and the club currently pays the annual membership for each member. This allows us to enter teams in the local league.
